Autobiography
My name is Tiffany Schultz (Mrs. Schultz to all you student-type folks), and I hail from the small, little-known town of Centuria, Wisconsin, which is situated right near the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin about an hour and a half north of Spring Valley. Though I grew up in Centuria, I lived in Blaine, Minnesota, during my younger years, and come from hardy Norwegian stock--that's right, I've got Viking blood! After I graduated from Unity High School, I attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and graduated from there with my Bachelor's in Secondary Education in 2011. December 2011 was a very busy and exciting month in my life, in fact, because during that month I got married, got my job here in Spring Valley, and graduated college!
Here's my husband, Mr. Schultz. Many of you probably have heard about him from your younger siblings, as he seems to be a bit of a celebrity at the elementary school. To be fair, he is pretty darn cool.
Mr. Schultz and I now live in Baldwin with our quite interesting pets, Gertrude and Gatsby.
Gertrude is a lovable yet aloof cat, as most felines are wont to be, and although she is not the most outgoing, she has kept us entertained with her antics through the years. Plus, we like to make fun of her slight weight problem. If I'm being honest, Gert's a fat cat. Gatsby is the newest addition to our family, and he is a long-haired Dachshund with lots of energy. Being a puppy, Gatsby loves to chew on everything, which is currently driving me bonkers. He makes up for this with his adorable puppy cuddles, though. Gertrude, however, is still not falling for his charms. Stay tuned to see if they ever work out their differences.
Even though my pets are certainly an important part of my life, there are plenty of other people and things that make me who I am. Back in Centuria, I have an awesome mom and a really cool dad, plus a little brother whom I love. One of our favorite family activities is to go hiking in Interstate Park. Here is a picture of one of our favorite spots from the Pothole Trail, which is located high up on the bluffs of the St. Croix River.
At home, I love to cook, so I have tons of cookbooks and am always looking for new recipes. Christmas is my favorite time of year for many reasons, but baking is definitely one of them. If you haven't already heard, I make some pretty excellent sugar cookies. I like to make more than just food, though, so I stay busy with crafty stuff like crocheting blankets, scrapbooking, and cross-stitching. When I'm not crafting away, I like to (you probably already guessed it) READ! I'm always picking up books from secondhand stores, garage sales, and Barnes and Noble. I have a book-buying problem. My other addiction is television. I can be a bit of a couch potato, so I don't know what I would do without Netflix. My favorite shows are The Office, Doctor Who, Parks and Rec, and Firefly, just to name a few. Board games are another one of my favorite activities, and I have a whole trunk full of games to prove it.
At school, you'll see that I'm ALWAYS busy because I not only teach, but am the adviser for Vallettes, Cheer, Forensics, and NHS.
My life is crazy busy but fun, and there is nary a dull moment.
